Standard Users

Media Manager on Record Detail Page

To enable Media Manager for standard users, Salesforce admins need to integrate the “Media Manager V2” component into any lightning page, such as the Record Lightning Page, Lightning App Page.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Navigate to the Lightning App Builder page where you wish to incorporate the “Media Manager V2” component. For instance, you might want to display media files related to high-priority cases on the Account Record Detail page.

  1. Drag and drop the “Media Manager V2” component from the available components into the desired section of the page.

  2. In the “Configuration Name” field, select the appropriate configuration name. NOTE: If the configuration is object-based, only the configurations created specifically for that object will be visible.

  1. Set the preferred height of the component, which applies specifically to the “Slider View”. By default, the height is set to 400 pixels.

  2. Optionally, enable the “Get Files from Email Attachments” checkbox to include files from email attachments in the preview.

Community Users

Community admins can also incorporate the Media Manager component into community pages, including the Home and Record Detail pages.

Here are the steps:

  1. Add the Media Manager component to the community page.

  1. Provide the necessary details for the following fields:

  • Record Id: Input the valid record ID to display files, excluding the record detail page if being paced in a record detail page.

  • Configuration Name: Specify the appropriate configuration name for file rendering.

  • Height: Enter the desired height of the slider component. The default height is 400 pixels.

  • Get Files from Email Attachments: Decide whether to display files and attachments from emails. This feature is applicable only to the Case Object, specifically for cases created by Customer Service Request Emails.

Note: Actions such as Upload, Share, Delete, Exclude from Viewer, and Remove from Record are not supported by Media Manager in communities.
