Filters

 

Filters are criteria sets added by admins, enabling them to view specific or filtered content which will render the files based on the filter applied in Media Manager. The Filters page allows users to define specific criteria for viewing records and their associated files, enhancing data management efficiency. 

Filter Section Details

  • Field Name: Choose a field from the displayed options of File and Attachments and select the required fields to apply the filter.

  • Operator: Select the appropriate operator based on the field's data type.
    a. Text data type: Equals, Not Equal To, Contains, Does not Contain, Starts with, Ends with, Includes, Excludes.
    b. Number data type: Equals, Not Equal To, Greater Than, Less Than, Greater or Equal, Less or Equal, Between, Not Between, Includes, Excludes.
    c. Picklist, multi-select picklist data type: Includes, Excludes.

  • Value: Enter the value to apply in the filter. Media Manager admins can input a static value or select a value from Global Variables.

  • Logic: Select a logic from the listed options: AND, OR, Custom Logic.
    a. Custom Logic: Users can now add custom criteria to filters. This feature enables the definition of complex conditions using logical operators, providing a more tailored data view. 

 Note: Media Manager currently supports Global Variables such as Custom Metadata, Organization, Profile, and User. You can utilize Global Variables for even Community-specific list view configurations.

How to Add Filters

As a Media Manager admin, you can easily configure default filters to enhance your list view. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Filters page. 

  2. Click on “Add New” to start adding filters. 

  3. Choose the Field Name, set the Operator, and enter the Value.  

  4. Add another filter and set up the Logic.

  1. Define the custom logic for the filter criteria.

  1. Click Save in the Filters section and you can see a Preview version of the added filters.

View Mode

Note: Under the “File Tree” tab, you can set up accessing files across various objects. You can set the filters for a particular Object and set logic too. The Filters tab is ONLY for Media related fields.
