Filters
Filters define the criteria used to narrow down the files shown in Media Manager. Admins can configure filters using Files and Attachments fields, and users can apply these filters to view a focused set of results.
Filter Section Details
Field Name: Select a field from Files or Attachments to filter results.
Operator: Available operators depend on the field data type.
Text: Equals, Not Equal To, Contains, Does not Contain, Starts with, Ends with, Includes, Excludes
Number: Equals, Not Equal To, Greater Than, Less Than, Greater or Equal, Less or Equal, Between, Not Between, Includes, Excludes
Picklist / Multi-select Picklist: Includes, Excludes
Value: Enter the value used by the filter. Values can be:
Static (typed manually)
Global Variable (selected from available options)
Logic: Defines how multiple filters are evaluated together. Options include: AND, OR, and Custom Logic.
Custom Logic: Allows combining filters using a custom expression (for example, controlling how conditions are grouped and evaluated). Use this when simple AND/OR is not enough for your criteria.
Note: Media Manager supports Global Variables such as Custom Metadata, Organization, Profile, and User. Global Variables can also be used for Community-specific list view configurations.
How to Add Filters
As a Media Manager admin, you can easily configure default filters to enhance your list view. Follow these steps:
Navigate to the Filters page.
Click on “Add New” to start adding filters.
Choose the Field Name, set the Operator, and enter the Value.
Add additional filters as needed.
Set the Logic (AND / OR / Custom Logic).
If using Custom Logic, enter the logic expression for your filter criteria.
Click Save in the Filters section, and you can see a Preview version of the added filters.
Note: Filters in this section apply to media-related fields (Files / Attachments). If your configuration uses File Tree, filters can also be defined for specific objects within the File Tree setup based on how your tree is configured.
