Columns
Columns define the fields shown in the List View results grid. Configure columns so users can quickly understand the file details and its related context without opening multiple records.
Columns Section Details
Display Order: Sets the left-to-right sequence of columns in the List View.
Field Name: Select the field to display as a column. Field options are grouped into
Files: Standard file metadata fields (example: Name, File Type, Last Modified Date).
Media Manager: Media Manager fields, including:
Related Object: Displays the object type the file is associated with (example: Account, Contact, Case).
Related Record: Displays the object type the file is associated with (example: Account, Contact, Case).
Display Label: Auto-generated based on the selected field. Admins can update the label to match the team’s terminology.
Delete (Icon): Removes the column from the configuration. Use Save to retain changes or Cancel to discard them.
Allow Group By: Makes the column available in the Group control (List and Tile views where supported).
Note:
To enable Group By, ensure that at least one column has "Allow Group By" checked.
The “Allow Group By” column will be disabled for fields that does not support Group By.
Editable: Enables inline editing for supported fields directly in the List View. Editable fields display a pencil icon.
NOTES:
Inline edits are validated in real-time. Invalid values display inline error messages.
Bulk edit is supported for editable fields (select multiple rows and apply updates).
While inline editing, conflicting actions (example: Delete, Share) may be restricted to prevent data conflicts.
How to Add Columns in Media Manager Configuration
Media Manager administrators can configure columns for the list view. Here's how:
Click on the Columns tab.
Click on the Edit button and click the “Add Columns”.
Enter the Display Order.
Select the Field Name from the listed Options
Enter the Display Label.
Enable Allow Group By and/or Editable as needed.
Click the Save button in the Columns section.
Note: Columns control what appears in the List View grid. Object navigation and cross-object access are configured separately in File Tree.
How to Add Actions in Media Manager Configuration Columns
Media Manager administrators can configure columns for the list view. Here's how:
Click on the Columns tab.
Click on the Edit button and click on the “Add Action”.
Enter the Display Order.
Select the Action Name from the listed Options.
Enter the Display Label.
Click the Save button in the Columns section.
