Upgrade Media Manager from AppExchange

Upgrade Media Manager from AppExchange

Use these steps to upgrade Media Manager to the latest version from Salesforce AppExchange. The upgrade preserves existing files, folders, and settings while adding new capabilities.

Recommended Before You Start

  • Prefer upgrading in a Sandbox first using Try It, especially if you use custom Flows, custom actions, or heavy automation around files.

  • Inform key users/admins about the planned upgrade window.

  • Note that some new features require configuration updates to be visible to end users; plan to review configuration after the upgrade.

Steps

  1. Open the Media Manager AppExchange listing: Log in to Salesforce with the org where Media Manager is already installed.

  1. Start the upgrade: Click Get It Now to upgrade in Production or Try It to install/upgrade in a Sandbox

  1. Confirm the target org: Verify the correct Salesforce org is selected and click Continue

  1. Review package information: Check the version details and click Continue to proceed.

  1. Set security access: Choose Admins Only, All Users, or Specific Profiles, then click Install or Upgrade (if shown).

  1. Wait for installation to complete: Salesforce will process the upgrade and send a completion notification.

  1. Verify the installed version: In Salesforce, go to Setup → Installed Packages and confirm that Media Manager shows the latest version.

  1. Validate Media Manager in the app: Open Media Manager, load a record, and verify views (list, tile, slider), previews, and file actions.

  1. Review and enable new features (if needed): Open the Media Manager configuration pages and enable any new options required to expose new features to end users.
